Under the direction of the Biotechnology Institute, the national organization dedicated to biotechnology education, the sanofi-aventis BioGENEius Challenge awards are given annually to high school students who demonstrate an exemplary understanding of biotechnology through science research projects.
Prizes are awarded at the 2007 BIO International Convention. The first place prize award is $7,500; second place is $5,000; third place is $2,500; and honorable mention is $1,000.
