Exhibitors' Frequently Asked Questions:

 Applying for a Booth

  1. Q: Can you give me some general information on exhibiting at the BIO International Convention in 2007?

A: Visit our exhibitor area of the site or for specific questions, e-mail exhibit@bio.org.

  2. Q: What is the application deadline for exhibiting at the 2007 BIO International Convention?

A: We have no application deadline for the 2007 BIO International Convention. However, we do sell out our Exhibit Hall, and the earlier you apply the better your chances are of securing a space. Also, please note that a late application may cause you to miss out on publication and advertising opportunities.

  3. Q: What is the last day to be eligible for BIO Membership Amenities prior to the 2007 BIO International Convention?

A: New BIO members must be confirmed through the BIO Membership Department no later than January 15, 2007 in order to receive the benefits associated with BIO membership, which include but are not limited to complimentary registrations. The membership confirmation process may take up to three weeks. This process must be complete to activate this benefit. View the membership page for more information or call the BIO Membership Department at +1.202.962.9200.

  4. Q: What other display opportunities are available at the BIO International Convention?

A: Be sure to consider submitting a poster abstract for the Innovation Corrir, or visiting the Patient & Medical Health Advocacy Display.

The Innovation Corridor is a poster session that provides a unique opportunity to share research aimed at solving problems and/or addressing unmet needs with worldwide industry leaders focused on healthcare, agriculture, environment, and the biotechnology industry. The objective of the session is to foster world-class collaborations among academia, early stage research organizations, and industry.

At the Patient & Medical Health Advocacy Display, representatives from 40 national and international patient and medical advocacy groups will be on hand to provide information about their diseases and organizations.Take advantage of this opportunity to begin building mutually beneficial partnerships and learn how you can work with patient and medical advocacy groups. Identify participants for clinical trials, find principal investigators, and reach the ultimate beneficiaries of your products—the patients, as well as the medical specialists who treat and care for them.

After Having Applied for a Booth

  1. Q: When will I receive my booth assignment?

A: We began the booth assignment process in mid-July and will confirm spaces on a first-come, first-served basis. When your booth has been assigned you will receive a "Booth Space Confirmation" e-mail, which will include your booth number as well as payment information.

  2. Q: My booth is incorrectly displayed on the online floor plan, even though I have received my booth confirmation. Is this an error?

A: It can take us up to two weeks to process changes to the floor plan and update them online. Therefore if your booth is supposed to be an island formation, or if you have purchased multiple booths that should be merged, do not worry if this is not immediately reflected online.

 Display Approvals

  1. Q: Does my booth display need to be approved by Exhibits Management?

A: Prior approval is required for multi-story exhibit booths. All such plans must bear the stamp of a registered structural engineer and/or certified architect and be accompanied by a letter from the engineer/architect stating that the exhibit conforms to the current Boston Building and Fire Code. Three original copies of the engineer-stamped plans are required at least 60 days prior to installation and should be mailed to Show Management.

 Exhibitor Registration

  1. Q: How do I register for the 2007 BIO International Convention?

A: Registration for the 2007 BIO International Convention will open in November 2006.

  2. Q: When will I receive my complimentary registration codes, based on my membership/exhibit status?

A: We will begin sending out complimentary codes at the end of January. BIO members will receive one complimentary full-conference registration with each 100 square feet (10'×10') of exhibit space (not to exceed four complimentary registrations). Non-members will not receive complimentary full-conference registrations.

  3. Q: How do I register my Exhibit Booth Personnel (EBPs)?

A: You may register your EBPs on the website once registration opens through the last day of the conference. A username and password is required to access your EBP allotment. Each exhibitor is allotted six (6) EBPs per 10'×10' booth.

  4. Q: What is my username and password to register my Exhibit Booth Personnel (EBPs)?

A: Your username and password will be sent to you in an e-mail from Compusystems, BIO’s registration service, after your booth space has been confirmed. At this time, we have not yet begun sending usernames and passwords to confirmed exhibitors.

Please note that the e-mail will come from Compusystems, and may be filtered into your spam or junk mail.

  5. Q: What is the difference between Exhibit Booth Personnel (EBP) and an Exhibit Hall 3-Day registration?

A: Each exhibitor is granted six (6) EBPs per 10’x10’ booth. Exhibit Booth Personnel registrations should be allotted to individuals who will be staffing the booth and will require access to the Exhibit Hall before and/or after the official Exhibit Hall Hours (during setup, tear-down, and exhibitor planning times).

Exhibit Hall 3-Day registrations are for attendees who wish to view only the Exhibit Hall. This registration type does not allow access to the hall outside the official Exhibit Hall Hours (including setup and tear-down).
