BIO Business Forum

The BIO Business Forum offers an unparalleled opportunity for biotech and pharmaceutical companies, academic research institutions, and investors from around the world to gather in one place, at one time. The forum spans all three days of the conference and features a partnering program that can accommodate more than 10,000 one–on–one on–site meetings; multiple tracks of business development–focused company presentations; and the executive training workshop. The forum is open to all full–conference and session–only registrants. Co–sponsorship packages are available from $25,000 – $100,000 – see below. $25,000 packages include the following:

  • Complimentary standard-size (approximately 2x3 meters) partnering suite for sponsor's private use
  • Partnering fee waived
  • Opportunity to display company promotional materials at Business Forum sponsor literature rack
  • Recognition as a Business Forum sponsor in BIO advertising materials and on on–site signage

$50,000 packages include the following:

  • Complimentary medium–size (approximately 4x3 meters) partnering suite for sponsor's private use
  • Partnering fee waived
  • Opportunity to display company promotional materials at Business Forum sponsor literature rack
  • Recognition as a Major Business Forum sponsor in BIO advertising materials and on on–site signage

$100,000 packages include the following:

  • Complimentary large (approximately 6x6 meters) partnering suite for sponsor's private use - this suite is located in a prime area of the Business Forum. Only a limited amount of Major Business Forum sponsors will have partnering suites in this area.
  • Two complimentary standard–size (approximately 2x3 meters) partnering suites for sponsor's private use
  • Partnering fee waived
  • Opportunity to display company promotional materials at Business Forum sponsor literature rack
  • Recognition as a Major Business Forum sponsor in BIO advertising materials and on on–site signage

Business Forum Company Presentation Rooms
$25,000 per room – five opportunities (four sold; one available)

This sponsorship extends for all three days of the conference and offers strategic on–site visibility for biotech companies making presentations to licensing and business development representatives, venture capital firms, and other potential investors. Sponsor logo will be displayed on the presentation room projection screen (PowerPoint slide) and outside of the presentation room on a freestanding sign. Sponsors can also introduce company presenters (script provided by BIO) and display company materials at the Business Forum sponsor literature rack. Presentation room sponsors will also be recognized as Business Forum sponsors in BIO advertising materials and on on–site signage. If applicable, presentation and/or partnering fee will be waived.

Business Forum Partnering Center

$35,000 – two opportunities

The Business Forum Partnering Center provides access to the profiles and user accounts of companies participating in the partnering program, enabling them to request meetings and view their meeting schedules. (Approximately 50 computers are located in this area.) Sponsorship benefits include corporate logo placement on Partnering Center signage, mouse pads and screen savers, plus the opportunity to place promotional materials in the Business Forum sponsor literature rack. And new this year, you receive additional recognition with logo placement on cardboard screens that wrap each computer monitor. The sponsor will also be recognized as a Business Forum sponsor in BIO advertising materials and on on-site signage. If applicable, partnering fee will be waived.

Executive Workshop

$35,000

A workshop focusing on presentation skills, slide presentations, and corporate positioning for biotech executives is offered through the Business Forum. The Executive Workshop faculty is drawn from professionals who collectively have decades of life-science industry experience and are specialists in advising senior executives in corporate positioning, technical presentations, and speaker training. The sponsor will receive exceptional corporate recognition signage and the opportunity to display company promotional materials and giveaways. The sponsor of the Executive Workshop will also be recognized as a Business Forum sponsor in BIO advertising materials and on on-site signage. If applicable, partnering fee will be waived.

International Programs

Nearly one–third of the BIO 2006 attendees were international participants from 62 countries, with more than 1,000 joining us from Canada and hundreds more from the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Australia, Japan, and South Korea.

Our 2007 event will again feature a variety of international programs to highlight the issues currently facing the regional and global biotechnology sectors. Participants can learn about national–level developments from at least 24 countries featured in the international seminars.

International Seminars

$35,000 – two opportunities; OR $70,000 – exclusive (available)

Biotechnology executives wishing to conduct business globally should not miss the country seminars. As many as 21 countries will present the latest developments in business, policy, and scientific advancements. Seminars are scheduled for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday of the convention. This sponsorship includes recognition at 24 of the 32 seminars (8 seminars devoted to food & agriculture topics are excluded.) Sponsor logo will be on signage outside of the room and sponsors will have the opportunity to display promotional materials outside of room. Sponsor will also be recognized in 2007 BIO promotional materials.

Meeting Tracks

One–day meeting track – $35,000 excusive
Two–day meeting track – $70,000 exclusive OR two $35,000 opportunities
Three–day meeting track – $100,000 exclusive OR two $50,000 opportunities

Up to 18 meeting tracks (1 to 3 days in length) will be available for sponsorship at the BIO International Convention. Each track features at least four 75–or 90–minute sessions that focus on related issues. The meeting tracks are open to all full–conference and session–only registrants. Sponsors have the opportunity to form a session (time sensitive) for their sponsored track. In addition, sponsors are invited to introduce the moderator at each session within a track, and they receive corporate logo recognition on the presentation screen and signage outside the presentation room. Sponsors can also display promotional materials at the presentation room.

Academic Programs

The 2007 BIO International Convention agenda will include a variety of programs that focus on the academic community. These programs will span over the length of the conference and include the following:

Innovation Corridor

$25,000 – six opportunities (one industry sponsor - sold; one international sponsor - sold; and four academic sponsors - available)

The 2007 BIO International Convention will once again host the Innovation Corridor Poster Session from Monday through Wednesday. Innovation Corridor provides a unique opportunity for researchers to share their studies aimed at solving problems and/or addressing unmet needs with worldwide industry leaders focused on agriculture, environment, healthcare, and the biotechnology industry. The objective of the session is to foster world–class collaborations among academia, early stage research organizations and industry. Sponsors receive exceptional recognition on signage at the Innovation Corridor for all three days of the program. In addition, each sponsor receives four (4) guaranteed posters (provided they meet the requirements outlined in the 2007 Innovation Corridor poster submission guidelines).

The Biotechnology Entrepreneurship Boot Camp
$35,000

The BIO Entrepreneurial Boot Camp for Chief Scientific Officers and Academic Researchers ("the CSO Boot Camp") was created in response to the growing need in the scientific and academic community to learn about the necessary elements and skills to transform technology and invention into a viable company. The insight and energy required for entrepreneurial success can be developed by anyone motivated to think strategically, select projects and plan for expeditious and cost–effective management, understand the requirements of all the involved stakeholders, and oversee the essential components of the commercialization process. The exclusive sponsor of the CSO Boot Camp receives logo placement on signage at the Boot Camp and the opportunity to display company promotional materials. The sponsor may also invite up to four (4) Chief Scientific Officers to attend the Boot Camp free of charge.

Medical Foundation and NIH Translational Research Forum

$25,000 – two opportunities

The first Innovative Solutions for Translational Research forum was held at BIO 2006 in Chicago. It was such a success that the 2007 BIO International Convention agenda will once again include this forum, which features the most innovative and successful solutions to promoting translational research and commercialization. Stakeholders from academia, NIH, foundations, and industry will have the opportunity to delve into what works and why. The format will be interactive roundtable discussions with presenters from university and related programs that promote innovative drug development or medical technology. Sponsors of the Translational Research Forum receive recognition signage throughout the program, luncheon and reception, as well as the opportunity to display promotional materials. Sponsors also have the opportunity to participate in the development of the program.

BIO Patient & Health Advocacy Display and Reception

$35,000 – five opportunities

At the Patient and Medical Health Advocacy Display, national and medical specialty groups will be on hand at the convention center to provide information about their diseases and organizations. By interacting with these groups, attendees will learn how to identify participants for clinical trials, find principal investigators, educate medical specialists, and reach the ultimate beneficiaries of their products – the patients, as well as the medical specialists who treat and care for them. And building on the continued success of this program, BIO will once again hold a networking reception for BIO member company leaders to meet with the leadership of the patient and medical health advocacy groups. Sponsors receive recognition on signage at the display and reception, as well as promotional mention in BIO advertising material(s) about the Patient and Medical Health Advocacy program. Sponsors also have the opportunity to make brief remarks at the reception and receive five (5) invitations. BIO will permit the sponsors to nominate patient advocacy groups to participate at the event (groups must be approved by BIO).

Minority Outreach Initiative and Scholarship Program

This initiative helps increase engagement from minority communities and builds a greater awareness of the biotech industry - both in the positive influences of healthcare and in the creation of job opportunities. Sponsorship will provide an opportunity to interact with minority leaders and build relationships with their respective communities. Sponsor will have the opportunity to host a lunch program featuring minority thought leaders - for approximately 200 people. Sponsor will also assist in creating this program, form discussion topics, and identify speakers. Sponsor will receive recognition on signage at the luncheon and in 2007 BIO International Convention promotional materials that promote the minority outreach initiative. With the scholarship program, sponsor may nominate up to 10 individuals to receive complimentary full-conference registrations to 2007 BIO (individuals to be approved by BIO). BIO will provide three nights of hotel accommodations for these individuals - Sunday night, May 6 - Tuesday night, May 8.
